Contest Winner Kathryn Robinson of Raytown
accepts her prize.

Thank you to all of those who came out to celebrate the Raytown Lighting Ceremony. This year, groups from the Raytown Chamber, the City of Raytown, the Raytown School District and the Park and Recreation Departments and Main Street came together to make this years event a great success. It was estimated that between 300-400 people roamed the downtown streets at one point or another during the evening. Over 32 businesses held open houses, there were firepits to keep people warm as local school choirs sang Christmas Carols, there was an Ugly Sweater Contest, Hot Cider and Gingerbread Cookies were handed out at the Gingerbread House and hayrides around downtown were provided. Bands were playing inside and there were plenty of refreshments to go around. Santa flew in just to greet kids of all ages at the UMB Bank.
And a special thanks to all of our Event Sponsors and to all of the volunteer "elves" that helped make this years event successful.
